Alkis Michail

Name: Alkis Michail

Lives in: Voula (outside of Athens), Greece

From: Athens, Greece

Job: I studied architecture in London and have two diplomas: one in urban design and one in robotics. Right now, I am a freelance architect, personal trainer, chef, and the owner of Winners Vegan Restaurant and Niki Athens Hotel.
Since I was very young, I’ve had three passions: architecture, cooking, and sports. I studied architecture, and I lived in London for 10 years working as an architect there. At the same time, through part-time jobs, I was cooking in different street food markets around London. My grandfather built Niki Athens Hotel back in 1960. It was our family business, but I never thought of getting involved myself with it. In 2017, I came back to Greece as an architect to renovate the hotel. While we were doing the renovation, the kitchen was demolished so it was really hard for me to cook.  I was there from 5:00 am until midnight for nine months so this was very hard for me. As a vegan for almost eight years,  it was challenging for me to find a healthy organic vegan restaurant with tasty food and a lot of protein so that’s how I started with the idea of creating Winners with my own recipes!

Tell us something most people don’t know about you: I am very anxious, but i control it pretty well.  Also, I have
played guitar since I was seven years old.

-Reduce water waste while at home
-Turn in to a vegan diet
-Power your home with renewable energy if you can
-Invest in energy-efficient appliances
-Don’t use a car all the time, instead use a bicycle

Anything else you’d like us to know?:  I would like to invite you to my restaurant! Winners is a 100% organic vegan restaurant.
