Kindness

“Kindness begins with the understanding that we all struggle.”
~Charles Glassman

When you read the news, it might feel like there are only bad things happening in the world, but this week I want to share something positive.

“Kindness” is named the children’s word of the year by Oxford.
As part of a research project by Oxford University Press, over 6,000 children ages six to 14 were polled about the word they thought best summed up 2024. Their choice? Kindness. I can’t help thinking that maybe the kids should be in charge…❤️

On the topic of kindness, most of you know that I teach the Enneagram as a tool for compassion. When you start to understand someone else’s experience, even if you don’t like or agree with it, you tend to be kinder and more compassionate towards them.

To that end, this week I’m sharing an exciting workshop my business partners at Rendi and I have created to spark meaningful conversations. “Cracking the Code” is a dynamic, interactive Enneagram workshop designed to be the ultimate icebreaker.

Do you want to get your group or team talking to each other? Try this workshop!

I’ve included a case study of how it works. This example showcases “Cracking the Code” in a business environment, but we’ve been invited to present at wellness retreats, dinner parties, and more. This works any place you want to get people talking.

Case Study: How A Multinational Dating App’s Marketing Team Uses the Enneagram to Enhance Collaboration

The business need: A leading, international dating app company was having their annual offsite in Los Angeles. The team is geographically diverse so people rarely saw each other in person. The team leader was looking for something unique to kick off the 2-day meeting. She wanted something to bring the team together and spark meaningful conversations.

Our solution: We suggested introducing the team to the Enneagram through our Cracking the Code workshop. To build excitement and engagement, a week in advance of the offsite, we had each team member take an online assessment to get an idea of their likely Enneagram type.  On the day of the training, we kicked off the session with an overview of the Enneagram. Next, the group stood up and arranged themselves in Enneagram order, based on their assessment results. Then we facilitated a process where, going type by type, each person shared their assessment results.  This interactive session had many “A-HA!” moments, lots of laughter, and plenty of questions, discussion, and positive interactions.

The outcome: The workshop was so successful, the workshop ran over because the team was talking so much (there were lots of Type 7s…  😉 ).  The conversation continued over lunch and set a tone of collaboration and understanding for the entire offsite. This is the power of the Enneagram.

Do you want more kindness in the world? Bring the Enneagram to your workplace, retreat, or dinner party. We’ve love to help you.  Message me to learn more.
